Another pro-Israel move?

The United States, under the leadership of President Trump, has not hidden its all-out and one-sided support for the Israeli regime. Trump’s decision to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem broke with decades of official US policy to maintain the façade of neutrality in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinians. The US has also not shied away from protecting Israel at the Security Council.

Escalating trade wars

The United States is escalating a trade war with other major economies. The administration of US President Donald Trump unveiled plans on Friday for 25% tariffs on $50bn on Chinese imports. The announcement comes despite months of trade talks between Washington and Beijing. The two sides announced a truce in May, but it soon fell apart. The US penalties are in line with Trump’s America First campaign promises.
