Iran’s Haddadi clinches silver in 2018 IAAF Diamond League

Iranian discus thrower Ehsan Haddadi has collected a silver medal at the 2018 Bislett Games, which served as the fifth leg of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Diamond League.

The 33-year-old Iranian sportsman vied against opponents from Germany, Jamaica, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the United States.

The London 2012 Olympics silver medalist first set a record of 65.41 meters, before throwing the discus 67.55 meters in his second attempt.

Haddadi registered 65.75 and 66.17 meters later on, and his fifth and sixth throws were disallowed.

Lithuanian discus thrower Andrius Gudžius snatched the gold medal with an awe-inspiring throw of 69.04 meters.

Swedish athlete Daniel Stahl took the bronze with 67.04 meters.

The 2018 Bislett Games, the fifth leg of 2018 IAAF Diamond League, was held in the Norwegian capital city of Oslo on June 7, 2018.
