US blacklists, sanctions PMU factions in Iraq

The US House of Representatives imposes sanctions on two major factions of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units. This comes after the PMU’s political wing became the second largest parliamentary group in the recent election. Iraqi authorities are now concerned that Washington is trying to weaken some political alliances amid talks on Iraq’s next government. Our correspondent Altaf Ahmad reports from Baghdad.
