North Korea's state-run television KRT on Saturday aired several still photographs of leader Kim Jong-un inspecting a construction site at a tourist zone in Wonsan as US President Donald Trump said "productive talks" on the resumption of a cancelled summit were underway.

The still photographs showed Kim accompanied by North Korean officials including Army General Kim Su Gil, director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army. KRT did not specify the date of the inspection.

Trump late Friday said the United States was having "productive talks" about reinstating a June 12 summit with Kim, just a day after he canceled the meeting citing Pyongyang's "open hostility."
