Trump: Congress must pass spending bill with wall or no recess
US President Donald Trump says Congress must approve a government spending package before the summer break in August, otherwise lawmakers would have to stay in Washington.
Trump also said in his Saturday tweet that the funding bill should include money for border security and a wall on the border with Mexico.
In addition, he pointed to delays confirming hundreds of people he had nominated to serve in his administration, accusing Democrats of obstruction.
The Senate should get funding done before the August break, or NOT GO HOME. Wall and Border Security should be included. Also waiting for approval of almost 300 nominations, worst in history. Democrats are doing everything possible to obstruct, all they know how to do. STAY!

In March, Congress approved a $1.3 trillion spending bill to fund the government through the end of September.
The US president wanted as much as $25 billion for his wall project, but the bill authorized only $1.6 billion for fencing, surveillance technology and other measures.
At a rally last month, Trump warned he might back a government shutdown in the fall if Congress fails to provide what he calls adequate funding for border security.
In January, Democratic members of the US Senate withdrew an offer to fund the construction project.
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer said the offer to discuss funding for the controversial wall had been taken back due to Trump’s failure to follow through on the outlines of an agreement they discussed earlier.
Trump and Schumer had reportedly discussed a $31 billion package to pay for security measures along the southern border, far larger than the amount the president had told lawmakers he would need to fulfill his signature campaign pledge.
During his campaign for presidency, Trump suggested that illegal Mexican immigrants in the US were “murderers” and “rapists.” He also promised to build a border wall and make Mexico pay for it. Mexican officials have adamantly rejected the payment for the proposed wall.
The total length of the border is 1,954 miles (3,145 km) and is one of the most frequently crossed borders in the world.
