Jordan: Hundreds join pro-Palestine rally near West Bank border
Hundreds of people joined a pro-Palestine rally in Jordan's Suweima on Friday, coinciding with the 'Great March of the Return' Palestinian rallies along the Gaza Strip's eastern border with Israel.
Protesters held Palestinian flags and chanted pro-Palestine slogans. The 'Great March of Return' mass demonstrations started on March 30 and are expected to culminate on Nakba Day on May 15.
In Arabic, the date is known as al-Nakba or 'the catastrophe', and it marks the anniversary of the displacement of an estimated 750,000 Palestinians that followed the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.
