Turkish president visits national cemetery in South Korea

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited South Korea's National Cemetery in Seoul on Wednesday and paid tribute to soldiers who died during the 1950-53 Korean War.

Erdogan arrived in Seoul for a 2-day visit on Wednesday morning and met with his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in.

The two leaders discussed the outcomes of the inter-Korean summit and agreed to develop cooperation in trade, education, technology and defense, Seoul's presidential office said.

The expression 'blood brothers' is often used to describe the relation between the two countries since Turkey sent about 15,000 troops to the peninsula during the Korean War.
