British boy gets five-organ transplant

Jay Crouch is the first child in nearly 20 years to undergo the complex procedure at the hospital, receiving two new kidneys, a liver, pancreas and small bowel.

A seven-year-old boy has received five organs in a complex procedure in northern England.

Jay Crouch was given two new kidneys, a liver, pancreas and a small bowel, the BBC reported.

All the organs were reported to have been removed from the donor in one block.

The transplant has enabled Jay to be able to swallow food for the first time since he was born.
