Salesman-in-chief

US President Donald Trump has been bragging about how he’s sold billions of dollars of weapons to oil-rich Arab countries. He’s been quick to say the sales will help the US economy but what he’s failed to mention is the arms are helping fuel one of the deadliest conflicts in modern history: the war on Yemen. Saudi Arabia, an ally of the US and the instigator of the war in Yemen, is among the top buyers of weapons from Washington.

The creation of Israel

Israel has celebrated the seventieth anniversary of its creation at a time when tensions with the Palestinians are mounting. It was in 1948 when Israel was created on Palestinian lands and immediately recognized by the United States. The development is considered to be the starting point of an occupation that has triggered many wars and impacted the entire world. Soon after the creation of Israel, the forced displacement of Palestinians known as the “Nakba” or catastrophe began.
