North and South Korea are preparing for a summit between the leaders of the two countries on April 27. Preparations to the same effect are underway at the truce village of Panmunjom where the summit will be held.

For months, the world was witnessing an escalation of disputes over the North Korean nuclear program and concerns were rising that the US would eventually engage in a nuclear war with Pyongyang. However, North Korea in February took a rare rapprochement toward Seoul. Later, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un said he was ready to meet South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in for talks that are meant to help bolster relations between the two countries.
