Here is a brief look at Press TV newsroom's headlines from 18:00 GMT, April 14, 2018 to 08:00 GMT, April 15, 2018:

Condemning aggression

The US-led airstrike on Syria has drawn strong reactions from countries across the globe amid fears of escalation of the crisis. Protests have been held in several European countries amid condemnations from Tehran and Moscow. A draft resolution to slam the bombings was rejected at the Security Council.

'Hands off Syria'

People in different parts of the world take to the streets to condemn the US, Britain and France for the attack on Syria.

Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah released a statement following the airstrikes. Hezbollah condemned the Western aggression, saying that the justification cited for the move was unfounded and based on a fabricated drama.

Skripal poisoning case

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the nerve agent used to poison former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in Britain could have been the BZ substance.

Lavrov said experts from a laboratory based in the Swiss town of Spiez analyzed a sample of the substance used in the poisoning. Yulia Skripal and her father, Sergei, were found poisoned on March fourth in the southern English city of Salisbury. The poisoning incident triggered a row between Moscow and London. Britain accuses Russia of being behind the poisoning incident. The Kremlin denies any involvement, saying it is the UK that could have benefited from the attack.

US Syria strikes

The US has warned of a fresh strike against Syria after American, British and French forces fired over one hundred missiles at the Arab country.

Nikki Haley made the comments as the three countries circulated a joint draft resolution at the UN Security Council to investigate last Saturday’s suspected chemical attack in the Damascus suburb of Douma. The tripartite strike against Syria has drawn global outcry since it was carried out before the international chemical weapons watchdog could probe the incident. The Syrian government has rejected claims that it was behind the suspected chemical attack in the former militant-held town of Douma in Eastern Ghouta.

'Betrayal to Muslims'

Iran’s parliament speaker has lashed out at some Muslim countries for their stance on the US-led military action against Syria.

Ali Larijani said certain Islamic states stood by the US, France and Britain in their illegal missile attack on Syria. He said the betrayal of these Muslim countries will not be forgotten. Larijani said these countries bang the drum for Islamic unity and human rights in international circles, but support terrorists and aggressors behind the scenes. The top parliamentarian noted that moves such as the recent US-led attacks will only further strengthen the Syrian nation’s resolve to wipe out terrorists.

Repatriation plan

The United Nations Secretary General has put Myanmar’s armed forces on a UN blacklist of government and rebel groups suspected of carrying out rapes and other acts of sexual violence.

Antonio Guterres has issued a shocking report, revealing that Myanmar's military conducted systematic sexual violence against the Rohingya minority as an integral part of a clearance strategy. Guterres says brutal acts of sexual assault were used against pregnant women and young children in order to avoid an existential threat to the Buddhist majority. The report comes as Myanmar announced that the first family from nearly 700,000 Rohingya refugees was repatriated from Bangladesh to a camp in Rakhine state. The UN, however, has warned that conditions are not currently conducive to a dignified and sustainable return of the Muslim minority.
