Iran B team finishes third in FIVB beach volleyball world tour

The Iranian men's national beach volleyball B team has settled for a third-place finish at the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) World Tour SMM Pak Bara Beach Satun in Thailand.

On Wednesday, the Iranian duo of Rahman Raoufi and Hamed Mirzaali notched up a 2-0 victory over their Australian counterparts Zachary Schubert and Tim Dickson.

The Iranians got off to a strong start, and mounted a string of attacks. They could take the first set 21-17.

Raoufi and Mirzaali were resolute not to capitulate. They won the second set 21-13.

Meanwhile, Nuttanon Inkiew and Sedtawat Padsawud handed Thailand the first-ever World Tour gold medal after stunning arch rivals Candra Ade Rachamawan Mohammad Ashfiya from Indonesia in the men’s final showdown.

The FIVB World Tour SMM Pak Bara Beach started on April 8, and finished on April 11, 2018.
