Israel's attack on Gaza 

Israel continues to kill Palestinians with impunity. Israeli troops on Friday killed many Palestinians during the Land Day rallies in Gaza. Over a thousand and four hundred people were injured.  Pall bearers carrying the body of one of the victims during a funeral in Gaza. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has condemned israel’s atrocities against the people of Gaza, demanding the UN protect Palestinians against Israel. Abbas says Tel Aviv must be held accountable for killing and injuring the demonstrators. The Security Council met on the situation in Gaza on Friday at Kuwait's request: the outcome of the meeting: nothing as expected.  

US presence in Syria 

The United States increased this week its special operations troops in Manbij in northern Syria. In an email Thursday to VOA, Col. Thomas F. Veale, a US military spokesperson, said the recent deployment is to ensure the safety of coalition troops in the area. He refused to disclose the number of the troops, but said “the level of force protection is commensurate to the threat."
