'The Good Immigrant'

This challenging book gives voice to 21 black, Asian and minority ethnic Britons who do not feel an accepted part of their own country.

By Nikesh Shukla, it examines why - sometimes three generations on - those of a different ethnicity to the majority Anglo-Saxons, do not consider themselves part of the inherent fabric of British society.

Are Britain’s immigrants in good and bad categories with a select few gaining “good” status by athletic deeds or achieving TV popularity, whilst the majority continue to feel second-class citizens.

Following the referendum causing the UK’s exit from the European Union, much of the Brexit support was attributed to resentment from the majority population against the massive influx of immigrants during the period of the Blair government.

New Chapter considers Shukla’s timely essay.
