The national Iranian men's beach volleyball team has finished as the runner-up at the end of the Muscat one-star men’s event on the 2018 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Beach Volleyball World Tour, following a defeat against Germany.

Germany’s pair of Philipp Arne Bergmann and Yannick Harms got off to a strong start against the Iranians in an encounter held in the Omani capital city of Muscat, and delivered a 2-0 (21-18, 21-11) shutout of Iran’s Rahman Raoufi and Bahman Salemi.

The Iranian beach volleyball players held up through 18-18 in the first set, but Bergmann managed to find the empty spot on the opposite half of the court and closed the period off at 21-18.

The Germans quickly broke away in the second set and never capitulated. They overcame the Iranian squad’s block and took the set at 21-11.

The Muscat one-star men’s event on the 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour started in Oman on March 14, and finished on March 17, 2018.
