Construction workers broke ground on a border wall replacement in California on Friday, taking down old metal fencing to erect a steel structure that is 9 meters high and with a bollard-type shape.

Construction workers broke ground on a border wall replacement in California on Friday, taking down old metal fencing to erect a steel structure that is 9 meters high and with a bollard-type shape.

The replacement steel in the Calexico area of California was actually green lighted by former president Barack Obama in 2009. But the contract for work to commence was awarded by the Trump administration and is expected to cost some $18 million.
