Iranians mourn martyrdom of Prophet’s daughter: Photos

Iranians are commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH), the daughter of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

People from all walks of life are attending mourning ceremonies across the country to pay tribute to Hazrat Fatima, the wife of Imam Ali the first Shia Imam.

Several other Muslim countries, including Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan, are also marking the occasion, which falls on the third day of the lunar Islamic month of Jamadi al-Thani.

Hazrat Fatima, the mother of the second and third Shia Imams, is regarded as a role model by Muslim women for her moral and religious virtues.
