An academic says the Bahraini regime is continuing its heavy-handed crackdown on dissent because it feels “very scared” due to the fact that it “enjoys absolutely no legitimacy”.

“The Al Khalifah regime is very unstable, is very scared... because they know that very few, less than 10 percent of the population, supports them, only those members of the royal court and their extended families support this corrupt regime, and so because they are very scared, they are trying to silence all opposition within the kingdom,” Colin Cavell, a former lecturer at the University of Bahrain told Press TV in an interview on Friday.
