Mohammad Salah has won the African Player of the Year, after he inspired his country to a long-awaited World Cup Spot and had a phenomenal start to his career at English Premier League Club Liverpool.
Salah won the African Player of the Year on Thursday ahead of his teammate Sadio Mane of Senegal and Borussia Dortmund and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and among other finalists at the Confederation of African Football awards ceremony in Ghana.
The 25-year-old player was part of Egypt's National Team that reached the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
