In the latest round of air raids, Saudi fighter jets targeted a vehicle in the province of Hudaydah, killing three people. Several others were wounded seriously. Saudi Arabia launched its aggression on Yemen in March 2015. The war has been accompanied by a naval, land and aerial blockade on Yemen. Over 13,000 people have been killed in the Saudi attacks so far.

Catalonia rally

Thousands of Catalan pro-independence demonstrators have gathered in Spain’s Barcelona to demand the freedom of two of their jailed leaders.

The protesters gathered at Sant Jaume square and chanted slogans against Madrid as they walked to the Catalan government headquarters. Many of the demonstrators were wearing yellow scarves which have become the symbol of support for Catalan leaders who are currently jailed in Madrid. The protesters held banners reading "They call it democracy but it isn't. Free prisoners."

Pro-refugee rally in Italy

Thousands of people have rallied through the streets of the Italian capital Rome in support of the basic rights of migrants and asylum seekers. The march, organized by a series of unions aimed to raise awareness about the discrimination and the bad situation thousands of refugees are facing in detention centers.

Pro-Palestinian rallies

Pro-Palestine rallies have been held in the US and Indonesia following Washington’s recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital.

Thousands of protesters rallied near the White House in Washington DC to express their anger over the US president’s decision. Protesters waved Palestinian flags and carried banners denouncing the Israeli occupation of Palestine. Also in Jakarta, around 40,000 people gathered to protest against the controversial decision. The demonstrators said Trump's move has violated international law. The dramatic shift in US policy has drawn international condemnation, with pro-Palestine rallies held in many countries.

California wildfire

A mammoth wildfire roaring in California has grown into the third largest on record in the US state’s history, forcing a hundred thousand people to flee.

The Thomas Fire has reduced more than one thousand structures to ashes and charred over a hundred thousand hectares of land. Nearly 8,500 firefighters are working round the clock to contain the flames, using one thousand engines and 32 helicopters. The destructive blaze still remains a threat to some 18,000 homes. It broke out on December fourth and was soon spread by high winds. The cause is not known yet.
