Moore loss a double whammy for Trump and Republicans
A historic and stunning victory for the US democrats; for the first time in a quarter-century, a democrat has won a senate seat in the reliably red state of Alabama. Former prosecutor Doug Jones has defeated his republican rival Roy Moore by securing nearly 50 percent of the votes in the special election which was held to fill the Senate seat vacated by now attorney-general Jeff Sessions. Despite allegations of sexual abuse whirling around Moore, President Donald Trump turned a deaf ear to the advice of top GOPs and threw his weight behind the former Chief Justice. That said, Jones’ victory is viewed as a major personal blow to Trump who has been leading a turbulent administration since January the twentieth.

OIC declaration: E.Jerusalem is Palestine's capital
One week after the US President Donald Trump declared Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel's capital, a group of Muslim leaders called on all countries to recognize the State of Palestine and East Jerusalem al-Quds as its occupied capital. At a summit held in Turkey, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) declared that it remains committed to a "just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution". It also called on the United Nations to "end the Israeli occupation" of Palestine and declared Trump's administration responsible for "all the consequences of not retracting from this illegal decision". Observers say the OIC, though active, has been not effective as it should have in defending the Palestinian rights so far.
