Iran vice champion in Asian Youth Para Games

The third edition of the Asian Youth Para Games kicked off on December 8, and will finish on December 14, 2017.

Iranian male and female Paralympian athletes have earned great admiration at the third edition of the Asian Youth Para Games in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and finished as runner-up, thanks to their grand performances at the continental multi-sport event.

The Iranian delegation placed second in the overall standing of the competitions in Dubai, having secured 39 gold, 44 silver and 35 bronze medals, the Islamic Republic of Iran National Paralympic Committee (IRINPC) website reported.

Japan collected 43 gold, 29 silver and 26 bronze medals, and finished the champion.

China placed third in the medal table, having won 27 gold, nine silver and five bronze medals.

A total of 800 Paralympian athletes from 30 countries, including Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yemen, took part in the event.
