Girona have snapped their four-game losing streak in all competitions, after posting a narrow yet precious 1-0 victory over their Catalan rival Espanyol

The one-sided encounter saw the dominant visitors finally break the deadlock at RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, when David Timor tapped home the only goal of the match following a goal-mouth scramble.

With the triumph Girona climb to 9th, while the hosts who suffered their fourth loss in five league matches, remain four points above the drop zone in the 20-team standings.
