Israeli commander caught on film stealing apples
An Israeli military commander has been caught stealing apples from a Palestinian fruit vendor amid widespread protests over the US decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the Israeli capital.
The Israeli commander was supposedly patrolling in al-Khalil (Hebron) when he decided to steal three apples from an abandoned stall and share them with his squad, when he thought no one was looking.
To his and the Israeli army's dismay, not only were there people looking, but they were also filming his petty theft.
After the footage went viral, the Israeli army announced that the unnamed soldier has been suspended pending a full investigation. The video also drew widespread ridicule over social media.
“Try not to worry about it, we understand how dangerous those young rebellious fruits pose to your security...you did what you had to do, Yeh,” said one twitter user.
“Steal a fruit and getting caught on video: NOOOOO! Massacring thousands of Palestinians: self-defense! Israeli logic!,” said another.
The occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed fresh tensions in the aftermath of US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel's capital.

Jerusalem al-Quds remains at the core of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, with Palestinians hoping that the eastern part of the city would eventually serve as the capital of a future independent Palestinian state.
The entire city went under Israel’s control after the regime annexed East Jerusalem al-Quds in 1967 during the Arab War.
