Mine explosion in Colombia

Six people were killed from an explosion at an underground coal mine in central Colombia on Tuesday, December 5.

Colombia's National Mining Agency said the deadly explosion was likely caused by a concentration of methane gas in the mine. Three additional miners remained missing as rescue crews rushed to find any possible survivors at the mine near the Corrales municipality in the Boyaca department northeast of Bogota.
