Amazon workers in Germany strike on Black Friday
Amazon workers were striking at six warehouses in Germany on Friday, the Verdi trade union said, threatening to disrupt one of the year's busiest shopping days.
Like the rest of Europe, Germans in recent years have embraced the US tradition of Black Friday, a day of heavy discounting by retailers on the day after Thanksgiving.
In Koblenz, where an Amazon distribution centre is located, employees also staged a street protest as part of a long-running dispute over pay and conditions.
