After Daesh, world looking for its creators, supporters

It may have been a historic day in the politics of the Middle East. On Tuesday and following the liberation of the Syrian town of Bukamal from Daesh control, Iran declared the end of the terrorist group. A group whose atrocities had terrorized the world over the past several years. The fight against the remnants of the group still continues in certain parts of Syria and Iraq. But the demise of a self-declared caliphate whose notorious reign had spread instability across the Middle East and shocked the world is already certain. The history of Daesh would remain a subject for debate. What the world would want to know to the same effect is how it was created, who sponsored them and who has the credit to finish it.

German EU position to suffer from domestic deadlock

Europe’s economic powerhouse Germany is in the midst of a profound leadership crisis. This after German Chancellor Angela Merkel failed to form a coalition government. The coalition talks collapsed when the pro-business Free Democrats pulled out of the negotiations. Merkel has said she is determined not to form a minority government with the Greens, and prefers new elections. Calls are now growing on the chancellor and other major political camps to help find a way out of the current turmoil. German president Frank Walter Steinmeier says all parties in the parliament have a responsibility to try to form a government and end the state of uncertainty.
