Grigor Dimitrov has notched up the biggest title of his career by beating David Goffin 7-5, 4-6, 6-3
in an entertaining showdown in the ATP Finals in London.
The Bulgarian could not assert his absolute superiority over Goffin still managed to take the opening set.
The new world number 7 who had stunned Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer in the previous rounds roared back in the second punishing Dimitrov with fierce forehand winners to force a decider.
But Dimitrov regained his composure in the final, staving off four break points on route to wrapping up the enthralling clash. This has been the first time in the competition's 47-year history that two first-timers reached the final.
