Heightening tensions in Kirkuk

Iraqi government forces have taken full control of several oil installations and a military base outside the northern city of Kirkuk from Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). The operation comes a month after KRG held a controversial secession referendum.

In this edition of The Debate, Press TV has talked to its correspondent in Kirkuk, Altaf Ahmad, and interviewed Zayd al-Isa, a London-based expert in Iraq's affairs, and professor Nabil Mikhail from George Washington University Washington, to discuss the recent tensions between the Iraqi and Kurdish forces in the city of Kirkuk a month after the controversial secession referendum held across the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
