US First Lady Melania Trump is the most popular member of the family of US President Donald Trump, a new poll shows.

According to the CNN poll released Saturday, 44 percent of those polled said they have a favorable view of the first lady.

The president’s daughter, Ivanka, was also viewed as favorable by 41 percent; however, her notorious husband, Jared Kushner, was viewed as such just by 20 percent of those polled.

Melania, meanwhile, embarked on her first solo foreign trip as the first lady to Toronto, Canada, to lead the US delegation at the Invictus Games along with Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin.

She encouraged the American team participating in an Olympic-style competition for wounded service members and veterans.

"On behalf of my husband and our entire country, I want to thank you and your families for all you have sacrificed to keep us safe," she said at a reception at a downtown Toronto hotel for the nearly 100 US athletes competing in the Invictus Games, a creation of Britain's Prince Harry.

She also met with Prince Harry, who referenced how “busy” the first lady has been.

"I also want to wish you good luck, though I know you won't need it in these games," Mrs. Trump said. "Take that fighting spirit that I know you have and bring home the gold."
