The crackdown against Rohingya Muslims by Myanmar army has stunned the world. Members of the persecuted community have faced unimaginable brutality. They have been forced to leave their homes in Myanmar and seek refuge in Bangladesh.

Aung San Suu Kyi, the country’s de factor leader and a Noble Peace laureate, has failed to condemn the violence. And that has given rise to growing calls for the withdrawal of her award.
