South Korea has approved a package of international aid for the North to be delivered by international agencies. The South Korean Minister of Unification says the decision will not be tied to political issues. The move comes as the US and Japan continue to mount pressure on North Korea while exploring military options to force Pyongyang to give up its nuclear and missile programs.
