AIMAG 2017: Iran's Ahmadi wins Men's 63 kg gold

Iran have managed to win more gold medals at the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games which is underway in Turkmenistan.

In Taikwondo and in the Men's minus 63kg category, Soroush Ahmadi overcame rivals from Iraq, Afghanistan and China to advance into the final of the contest. There, he met Nutthawee Klompong of Thailand and beat him 10-7 to win the precious gold medal for Iran.

Meanwhile, in the Men's Minus 87Kg Class, Saeed Rajabi fought hard to beat Jintao Lu of China 18-16 in the final to take top spot and grab another gold for the Islamic Republic on Tuesday.

Mahdi Eshaaghi and Mahdi Jalaali also won gold medals earlier for the Persians in the minus 54 and 74Kg categories respectively. Iran now stands 2nd in the overall standings with 7 gold, 4 silver and 15 bronze medals.
