Stance on JCPOA proves US untrustworthy: Activist

An activist says the United States' position on the 2015 deal on Iran's nuclear program, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is “entirely without foundation,” adding that it stands as proof that Washington simply cannot be trusted to abide by any treaties that it signs.

“The conduct of the United States would be tantamount to a fundamental breach in repudiating this agreement and let’s remember one thing … This is a multilateral treaty between Iran, the five permanent of the UN Security Council and Germany and it is not up to the United States to unilaterally decide what the requirements of this treaty are and when Iran is or is not in breach,” Barry Grossman told PressTV in an interview on Monday.

“And if we read this agreement carefully, it does not take a great amount of genius to work out that it was not never intended to encroach upon Iran’s right as a sovereign nation to have a military and to develop defensive technology in order to secure its borders and to protect itself against other nations which even today continue to make threats of war against Iran,” he added.
