Manchester United have made their long-awaited return to the Champions League in winning style with a 3-0 victory over Basel of Switzerland.

On Tuesday night, Marouane Fellaini thumped a header into the net in the 35th minute after Ashley Young’s brilliant cross found the Belgium midfielder on the edge of the six-yard box.

Romelu Lukaku netted the ball in the 53rd minute to double the Red Devils’ lead. Fellaini then crossed it in from the right with six minutes remaining and Marcus Rashford sent it past the keeper to wrap up the 3-0 win for the home team.
