Iran’s Persepolis have come back from 2 goals down to tie their match at 2-all with Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia in their AFC Champions League quarter-final 1st leg at the Sultan Ghaaboos Sports Complex.
Al-Ahli took a very early lead on Tuesday as Omar Al-Somah scored on a rebound in the 2nd minute, making it 1-nil.
The Saudi club found their second after the break through Leonardo who scored from close range. But Persepolis managed to pull one back on Mohammad Ansari’s header in the 84th minute.
Godwin Mensha then equalized 6 minutes from time with an awesome strike. 2-all, the final score and with the tie, the Reds will enter the second leg with more confidence and high spirits.
