Adrian Mannarino has defeated Milos Raonic in straight sets at the Rogers Cup.

Despite playing in front of a Canadian crowd, Raonic lost 6-4, 6-4 to the Frenchman in his opening match on Wednesday night while playing through a left wrist injury that flared up this week.

Mannarino had four aces and one double fault, while Raonic had the numbers reversed - having one ace and four double faults.

The Canadian was unable to save any of the three break points Mannarino created. Mannarino moves on to the Round of 16, where he will face South Korea's Hyeon Chung.
