Belgium’s David Goffin has come back from a set down to beat Yuichi Sugita 2-1 in the 1st round of the Rogers Cup.

After taking the opening set 6-4 on Tuesday-night, the Japanese couldn’t have Imagined to be left dumb-founded, as he was handed a bread-stick by the 9th seed Belgian.

Goffin still proved to be too good for Sugita in the final set, and went on to take it 6-4, in a battle which lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

He will next meet Hyeon Chung of South Korea, who overcame the 2014 semifinalist Feliciano Lopez in three sets on Tuesday.
