US already feeling effects of climate change: Report
The United States is already feeling the effects of climate change, with temperatures rising dramatically over the last four decades, a federal climate report finds.
"Americans are feeling the effects of climate change right now," The New York Times cited the report by 13 federal agencies not yet released or approved by President Donald Trump's administration.
According to the Times, the report “directly contradicts claims by President Trump and members of his cabinet who say that the human contribution to climate change is uncertain and that the ability to predict the effects is limited.”
The draft report which is a part of the US National Climate Assessment is conducted every four years. It has been signed by the National Academy of Sciences.
"How much more the climate will change depends on future emissions and the sensitivity of the climate system to those emissions," the draft report said.
The United States officially informed the United Nations on Friday that it would pull out of the 2015 Paris climate deal two months after President Trump announced his decision to do so.
In June, Trump said that the deal was unfair to American workers and said it stifled production and imposed burdens on the country.

He has taken a hard stance on climate change; at times calling it a hoax by China. During the election campaign, Trump vowed to “cancel” the Paris agreement within 100 days of becoming president in order to bolster US oil and coal giants, which bankrolled his campaign.
The Paris agreement went into effect on November 4, 2016 and has been signed by 197 countries, of which 159 have now formally ratified it, which represent more than 75 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
