UN's Middle East envoy has said a solution is needed to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound crisis in Jerusalem al-Quds, which threatens to have "potential catastrophic costs well beyond the walls of the Old City".
Three Palestinians have been killed in street clashes with Israeli forces in Jerusalem al-Quds and three Israelis in an alleged stabbing attack at a West Bank settlement. Israeli police used stun grenades and water cannons to disperse dozens of stone-throwing Palestinians.
