Libertad of Paraguay have progressed into the group stages of the Copa Sudamericana, following a 2-nil home victory over Huracan in the 2nd leg, hammering the Argentine side 7-1 on aggregate.
The visitors made an energetic start on Wednesday, pushing Libertad back from the outset, but struggled to create real chances. However, it was a different story in the 2nd half with the hosts breaking the deadlock after only 4 minutes when Jorge Recalde met the ball with a well executed half-volley from just outside the penalty box.
10 minutes later, Huracan’s keeper dashed any hopes of a comeback for his side, when he made a hash of a back pass, and striker Santiago Salcedo was on hand to send an exquisite chip into the back of the net.
