Atlanta Open: Isner beats Lacko to reach semis

To Tennis News and three-time champion John Isner is through to the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open after beating Slovakia's Lukas Lacko 7-5, 6-4.
Lacko had reached the quarter-finals twice before, but was outplayed on the big points by the tall American.

Isner's powerful serve got him out of trouble when he was a break point down at 3-4 in the opening set. And the 2nd Seed then went on to secure a timely break to Love for a 6-5 lead before taking the set 7-5.

In the second, Isner was again ready to pounce and seized his opportunity for a timely break of serve - a magnificent forehand down the line handing him a 5-4 lead. There was no way back for Lacko as Isner powered through to a 7-5, 6-4 victory in the next game.
