Tottenham Hotspur have slumped to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of AS Roma in the International Champions Cup, after an entertaining finale in the US state of New Jersey.

The Serie A side found themselves in the driving seat on Tuesday with a first-half penalty from Diego Perotti, and another by debutant Cengiz Under. But, the score didn’t remain for long as Harry Winks and Vincent Janssen were on target in the closing stages to get the Spurs on level terms.

The nerve-wracking showdown had more to offer, as 18-year-old Marco Tumminello grabbed the precious winner from close range in the second minute of added time, to seal the victory for Roma.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino’s men will next meet another Premier League side Manchester United on July 30th, while Roma will face Serie A champions Juventus on July 31st.
