The Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, is pressing ahead with an operation to fully boot out Nusra Front terrorists along the border with Syria. Our correspondent, Mariam Saleh, says Hezbollah forces are bombarding and shelling terrorist positions in Arsal.

Restrictions Lifted?

Israel completes dismantling controversial metal detectors at the entrance of the al-Aqsa Mosque. But Palestinians say they will continue to boycott entering the compound.

Lahore Funeral

Pakistanis are holding funerals for victims of Monday’s terrorist attack in Lahore that left over two dozen people dead. Mourners carried the coffins of those who were killed to a petrol camp which had been turned into a makeshift prayer ground before laying them to rest. Families and residents of the eastern city attended the procession. They condemned the attack and called on authorities to bring those responsible to justice.

Russia Warns US

Russia has warned that any U-S decision to supply Ukraine with lethal weapons will escalate tensions. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says such a move could destabilize the region along the frontline in eastern Ukraine and further aggravate the already complicated situation. Peskov reiterated that supplying arms to Ukraine will set back peace efforts and move all sides away from resolving the Ukraine crisis. The comments come after US special envoy for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, said Washington is considering sending weapons to Ukraine to help government forces in the fight against pro-Russia forces in the country’s east.

Afghanistan Funeral

In Afghanistan, a funeral procession has been held for one of the people killed in a car bomb explosion in western Kabul. Afghan mourners paid their respect to the victim during the ceremony. The bombing hit a bus carrying employees of Afghanistan’s Mines Ministry on Monday. 26 people were killed and 14 others wounded. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the bomb attack. The blast occurred only a day after the militants raided a local hospital in the central afghan province of Ghor. At least thirty five civilians died as the hospital was set on fire by the militants.

Jordan Funeral

In Jordan, hundreds of people have attended the funeral for a teenager who was killed by a guard of the Israeli embassy in Amman. The funeral was held in the city of Wihdat home to a large Palestinian refugee camp east of Amman. The people who attended the event shouted anti-Israeli slogans, urging their government to close the Israeli embassy in Amman. Seventeen year-old Mohammed Jawdah, along with another Jordanian, was killed on Sunday outside the Israeli embassy in Amman. Israel claims the embassy’s guards fired at Mohammed after he attacked them with a screwdriver. The second victim was killed by a stranded bullet. Mohammed’s father he denied the Israel's claim, saying his son was not linked to any political group.

China-India Stand-off

China’s Foreign Minister has blamed India for triggering the ongoing military standoff near the Sikkim border. Wang Yi called on India to conscientiously withdraw its troops from the Doklam border region to help resolve the ongoing border dispute. China says Indian troops need to return to the Indian side of the border before any talks can be held to resolve the dispute. India has in the past admitted that its troops entered the territory that’s under Chinese control but claimed by Bhutan. The row between the two countries border troops broke out in mid-June when Indian troops halted a road construction project by Chinese troops on the Doklam plateau in the Tibet Region.

Protect Palestinians

The Palestinian envoy to the UN urges the Security Council members to help protect Palestinians and their holy sites from Israel's "reckless and destructive agenda".
