Hamilton claims fifth British GP win

Lewis Hamilton

Britain’s Lewis Hamilton has delighted his home crowd by winning the British F1 Grand Prix.

Hamilton, who started from pole on Sunday, took the chequered flag with a time of 1 hour, 21 minutes and 27 seconds, to become the 1st man to take 4 successive victories in Britain, since fellow Brit Jim Clark achieved the feat between 1962 and 1965.

The triumph was also Hamilton's 57th victory of his career. Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas finished 14 seconds behind, to secure the one-two, with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen back in 3rd.
