A political commentator says human rights condition in Saudi Arabia has been escalated in recent years and the West is keeping silent about it.

“It’s just extraordinary that Western nations lecture others on human rights and then form this obscene close partnership with the world’s number one human rights violator Saudi Arabia … hypocrisy, war crimes and human rights violations by the Saudi government [are] endless,” John Steppling told Press TV on Saturday.

“The defense industries of NATO countries, and [the] United States in particular, profit hugely from the Saudi purchasing of weaponry, so they’re not going to say too much about these human rights violations,” he added.
