Doha has resisted pressure led by Saudi Arabia and it is now impossible for the regime in Riyadh to force the Qataris to accept a list of 13 demands, says an analyst.

The Saudi authorities have failed drastically “to bring Qatar to its knees,” Saeed Shehabi told Press TV on Tuesday.

The Qataris even warned that if Saudi Arabia and its allies, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, do not remove their blockade on Doha, Qatar may leave the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, the political analyst said.

He added that Western powers are afraid that the council falls apart and they could not bear any attack on Qatar.
