Trump arrives in Poland ahead of G20 summit

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Poland ahead of taking part in a Group of 20 summit in Germany.

Trump and his wife, Melania, arrived in the capital Warsaw on Wednesday evening.

The US President is expected to attend a session of the Three Seas Initiative Summit on Thursday to meet with his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda.

He is also scheduled to deliver a speech at Warsaw's Krasinski Square, before leaving for the Hamburg to attend the G20 summit on July 7 and July 8.

Trump’s first visit to Germany is set to face protests as many have vowed to take to the streets to condemn controversial decisions he has taken over the past months, including a withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement and imposing a ban on Muslims entering the US.

Police is deploying thousands of officers to protect the event and monitor airport and train security.
