Peyman Jebelli, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB)’s World Service, delivers a speech in Tehran on July 5, 2017 in a ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of Press TV’s inauguration.

Iran’s 24-hour English language news network, Press TV, has celebrated the tenth anniversary of its inauguration.

Press TV’s website was launched in January 2007 and the news channel began its official broadcasting in July 2007. Press TV offers round-the-clock news bulletins on all major global and regional developments.

During a Wednesday ceremony to mark the event, Peyman Jebelli, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB)’s World Servicepraised Press TV for conveying the Islamic Republic’s message to the world.

A number of top Iranian diplomats and officials attended the ceremony.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and former foreign minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, (seen below) called Press TV a source of honor, noting that foreign media followed a “strategy of confusion,” while the Iranian media had chosen to convey the “message of truth.”

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi (pictured below) said media carry the heavy burden of informing the public about the countries'  foreign policies.

He also hailed Press TV’s “professional” coverage of Iran’s nuclear talks with the P5+1 group of countries.

Former foreign minister Kamal Kharazi said Western media follow the agenda of spreading Islamophobia and try to divide nations.
