Action at the Confederations Cup makes our first story as Australia and Cameroon have played out a 1-all stalemate in Saint Petersburg. A draw which dented both countries’ hopes of reaching the semifinals.

The African side were the first to strike during the Group B encounter on Thursday as midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa lifted the ball over the Aussie goalkeeper on the stroke of half-time.

Australia’s response came on the hour mark when Mark Milligan converted a penalty to make it 1-1 and ensure a first point for both teams in the tournament.

Australia will line up against Chile on Sunday in their last group-stage match while Cameroon face Germany at the same time.
